Central Washington Family Medicine continues to work to expand patient care services, providing more variety and improving the quality of those services for the people of our community.
In November 2005, we completed a major expansion project at our Lincoln Avenue clinic. Patient care areas were expanded by 30%. A dispensing pharmacy was added to provide low cost drugs for Community Health of Central Washington patients. Dr. Tanny Davenport and Dr. Portia Jones joined the Full-time staff and Dr. Kirk Strosahl, clinical psychologist, is providing full-time clinical counseling services. We continue to recruit additional providers.
We are fulfilling our mission of caring for people with special needs. We’ve added an obstetric care coordinator and a new Access Specialist. They help patient’s access health services, insurance coverage and social services.
We received a grant from community Health Services, a division of the Washington Community Health care Authority, to assist in the care of patients who qualify for our discounted fee schedule. It helps uninsured patients who would otherwise have difficulty affording medical care.
Our quality improvement projects and participation in the Washington State Diabetes Collaborative led to the Qualis Health Award for Excellence in Healthcare Quality.
Community Health of Central Washington also received a Health Information Technology grant from the Washington State Health Care Authority to extract data from our electronic medical record and transfer it to chronic disease management registries. This allows us to further track our patients and assure they receive the highest quality evidence-based care. |
